Nigerian singer Portable has waded into the ongoing online war between Wizkid and the Kuti family, launching a scathing verbal attack on the Grammy-winning superstar.

In a viral video, Portable reacted angrily to Wizkid’s claim that he is “bigger than Fela,” dismissing the assertion and questioning Wizkid’s impact, relevance, and street credibility compared to Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti and even himself.
“Wizkid said he’s the new Fela; has he been to prison before? I’ve been to prison multiple times. I’m bigger than Wizkid,” Portable boasted in the clip.
He also challenged Wizkid on social impact, questioning who the global star has genuinely helped. “Who you help?” Portable asked, highlighting his own contributions, including feeding people on the streets and directly changing lives.
Portable insisted that the title of “new Fela” is about sacrifice, struggle, and street-level influence traits he claims Wizkid lacks. “If anyone should be called the new Fela, it should be me, not Wizkid,” he declared.
The comments have intensified the social media frenzy, further dividing fans over Wizkid’s controversial remarks about the Kuti family and the broader discussion of legacy, influence, and street credibility in Nigerian music.
