‘I’m not a ’thief’—Portable Fires Back at VeryDarkMan With Explosive Diss Track Amid Escalating Feud

Controversial street-pop singer Portable has fired back at outspoken social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM) with a no-holds-barred diss track, intensifying the ongoing clash between the two personalities.
The feud escalated earlier this week when VeryDarkMan released a diss record targeting Portable, opening the track with a viral video alleging the singer’s involvement in a tricycle theft incident.
The song featured chants of “Ole!” (meaning “thief”) and jabs suggesting the artist is lacking in divine favor, claiming he has “no grace.”
Never one to back down from public drama, Portable took to Instagram to share a snippet of his fiery response. In his track, the singer doesn’t hold back, unleashing a barrage of personal insults and dismissing the theft allegations with emphatic denial.
“VeryDarkMan, your mother / You are a poor person / Your mother is a p********e / Your father is a shoemaker / I take after my father / I am not a thief / Stop calling me a thief,” Portable sings in the track.
He also accused VDM of being gay, a move likely to stir further controversy given the sensitive nature of such claims in Nigeria’s sociopolitical climate.
The war of words between Portable and VeryDarkMan has gained massive attention online, with fans and critics weighing in on what many are calling a public meltdown between two of Nigeria’s most polarizing figures.
As both entertainers continue to trade blows through music and social media, it remains to be seen whether this feud will fizzle out or escalate further. For now, the diss tracks have become the latest addition to Nigeria’s ever-vibrant celebrity drama landscape.
