Portable defends Seun Kuti, blasts Samklef in heated live session
Nigerian singer Portable has defended Afrobeat artist Seun kuti, sharply criticizing music producer Samklef for his remarks about Kuti.
During a live session, Portable joined Samklef’s broadcast and launched into a fierce attack, condemning Samklef’s actions and language towards Seun Kuti.
Portable accused Samklef of having a failed music career, questioning why he couldn’t revive it and sarcastically asking if Samklef’s hands were broken, preventing him from making music.
He also warned Samklef that disrespecting elders would result in his juniors treating him with similar disdain.
Before leaving the live session, Portable praised Seun Kuti and emphasized the need to treat him with respect.
This incident has ignited a heated debate in the Nigerian music industry, with fans and fellow artists taking sides. Some commend Portable for defending Seun Kuti, while others criticize the way he addressed Samklef.
The situation continues to evolve, drawing widespread attention and discussion.

The drama began when Seun Kuti posted on Instagram, asserting that he only responds to artists with Grammy nominations, which Samklef perceived as a personal insult.
In a series of posts, Samklef accused Seun Kuti of relying on his father’s legacy, the legendary Fela Kuti, and challenged his fans to name one hit song by Seun.
He even offered a N500,000 reward to anyone who could do so. Samklef further sparked outrage by stating that Seun’s Grammy nomination is not equivalent to winning the award, and claiming that Seun’s older brother, Femi Kuti, is the only true son of Fela Kuti.
