Portable clashes with Ibadan people, urges them to leave Lagos
Popular Nigerian street-hop artist Portable has sparked controversy with his recent remarks targeting residents of Ibadan. In a post shared on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the singer expressed frustration and issued a provocative ultimatum.
Portable’s statement comes amid escalating tensions following his recent derogatory remarks about Ibadan, which reportedly angered some residents and led to the cancellation of his scheduled performance in the city.
In the viral post, Portable stated: “If it’s fight, let’s do it. You don’t like us anymore, and we don’t like you either. If I shouldn’t come to Ibadan again, all Ibadan people must go.”
He further added, “All Ibadan people in Lagos, pack your things and go. Ibadan must leave Lagos. If you tell me not to come to Ibadan, then all of Ibadan in Lagos must go too.”
The statement has drawn widespread reactions on social media, with many criticizing the singer for escalating the situation. Portable, known for his controversial persona, has a history of outspoken comments that often stir debate.
While his comments have amplified the feud, they also reflect his defiant stance, which continues to define his public image. How this conflict unfolds remains to be seen, but it underscores the challenges of navigating fame and public scrutiny in the Nigerian music industry.
