Saheed Osupa’s petition leads to Portable’s arrest over online outburst

Nigerian street pop sensation Habeeb Okikiola, widely known as Portable, has found himself in police custody following a petition filed by Fuji icon Saheed Osupa.
The controversial artist was arrested by the Kwara State Police Command on Sunday, April 13, 2025, in Abeokuta, Ogun State, and has since been transferred to Ilorin for further investigation.
In an official statement, police spokesperson SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi confirmed that the petition centers around multiple allegations — criminal defamation, threats to life, incitement, and the use of offensive language.
These charges reportedly stem from a now-viral video in which Portable launched a verbal tirade against Saheed Osupa, sparking outrage among the Fuji legend’s fanbase.
As the situation unfolded, deleted Instagram stories from Portable resurfaced online, showing the singer in a more remorseful tone. In the posts, he appealed to the public for support in making peace with Osupa, stating that he had reached out to mutual contacts, including music promoter Abu Abel, to mediate the issue.
The arrest follows a prior conflict between the two artists, which ignited after Portable accused Osupa of removing one of his songs from streaming platforms over an alleged copyright violation.
In his outburst, Portable branded Osupa as “big for nothing,” a comment that intensified the backlash and escalated tensions between their camps.
With legal proceedings expected to follow, the feud continues to stir buzz across social media, as fans on both sides await what happens next in this high-profile clash.
