Portable, Speed Darlington gear up for celebrity boxing match in April
Nigerian musicians Portable and Speed Darlington are set to settle their ongoing feud in a highly anticipated celebrity boxing match this April.
Fans are eager to witness the clash, which promises to determine the ultimate winner between the two controversial entertainers.
The showdown is scheduled to take place on the evening of Friday, April 18, 2025, at the Balmoral Convention Center. With tensions already running high, expectations for an explosive fight continue to grow.
The feud between the two artists began when Speed Darlington, who hails from Imo State, invited Portable to perform at his upcoming show, offering him a ₦500,000 performance fee.
However, Portable, born Habeeb Okikiola Badmus, found the offer insulting and declined. The 31-year-old Zeh Nation boss mocked Darlington for being “poor” and claimed he charges ₦20 million per performance.
“You are inviting me to a show, and you don’t have money. You are using my name to promote your show. I charge ₦20 million, ask around,” Portable said. “…You’re offering me ₦500k, for what? I don’t want to be friends with poor people. I didn’t know he is that poor.”
In response, an enraged Darlington accused Portable of disrespecting his mother.
“Why did I bring myself low? Why did I contact Portable? I regret it because why the insults? Why did my mother get into the discussion?” he fumed.
The situation escalated further when Portable issued a direct challenge to Darlington, proposing a physical showdown. He boasted about his fighting abilities, referencing his past confrontation with actor Charles Okocha.
“I want to fight you. We should both be put in a boxing ring. I will defeat you like I defeated Okocha,” Portable bragged.

Organizers of the event, MyGamerush, made the official announcement via Instagram, confirming that the much-anticipated fight will take place.
“You asked, and now it is here. Two street kings battle for ultimate street supremacy,” the statement read.
While Portable has yet to make an official response regarding the fight arrangements, Darlington has taken preparations seriously. He has already begun training and recently showed off his trainer in anticipation of the big day.
With both artists known for their outspoken personalities and controversial antics, fans are eagerly waiting to see who will emerge victorious in this battle of street supremacy.
