Portable calls out Davido for ‘fake life’ and ‘fake love’ in viral video
Controversial Nigerian street-pop artist, Portable, has called out Afrobeats superstar Davido, accusing him of insincerity and leading a “fake life.”
The dramatic revelation surfaced through a video posted by Portable on the social media platform X, sparking widespread reactions.
In the video, Portable alleged that Davido once advised him against signing with Sony Music, instead recommending Empire Records. However, Portable claimed he later discovered that Davido himself is signed to Sony Music and receiving substantial payments from the label.
“I trusted him when he said I shouldn’t go to Sony, only for me to find out that Davido is collecting big money from them,” Portable lamented in the video.
The street-pop singer didn’t stop there. He also accused Davido of exaggerating the value of a luxury watch he reportedly purchased. According to Portable, the singer bought the watch for $30,000 but publicly claimed it was worth $100 million.
Portable’s remarks have triggered intense discussions across social media platforms, with fans divided in their reactions. Some have defended Davido, while others have questioned the veracity of Portable’s claims.
The video has since gone viral, drawing attention to the ongoing feud and adding fuel to the growing discourse around honesty and authenticity in Nigeria’s entertainment industry.
As of now, Davido is yet to respond to the accusations. Fans and followers are keenly watching to see if the superstar will address the claims or let the controversy simmer.
