Nigerian artists Pheelz and BNXN have hit a major milestone as their smash hit ‘Finesse‘ has officially been certified Gold in the United States (US).

The certification, awarded for surpassing 500,000 units in sales, marks a significant breakthrough for both artists and further elevates Afrobeats on the global stage.

Since its release, ‘Finesse‘ has captivated listeners with its infectious beat and unforgettable hook, dominating airwaves and playlists worldwide.

This achievement cements Pheelz’s evolution from a top-tier producer to a successful artist while reinforcing BNXN’s status as one of Nigeria’s most versatile and consistent hitmakers.

The Gold certification is yet another testament to the growing influence of Afrobeats in the US and beyond.

With Nigerian artists continuously breaking records and making waves on international charts, ‘Finesse’s‘ success is a celebration of Nigerian musical excellence and a defining moment for Afrobeats in global music history.

During an appearance on the Afrobeats Podcast hosted by Adesope, Pheelz shared his perspective on artists choosing to distance themselves from the Afrobeats label. The singer expressed his support for Afrobeats, which he described as embodying the spirit of the Nigerian people.

In Pheelz’s view, Afrobeats represents a movement fueled by the spirit of Nigerians and Africans. While acknowledging that artists have the autonomy to either embrace or reject association with the movement, he identifies with Afrobeats and is proud to wave its flag.

“For me, I feel like it’s a tag for how we make our music. It’s a form of identifying what we do and where we are from. To some degree, it’s a form of collective decision by we Africans or Nigerians or the culture that let us move with this. So I choose to respect that collective decision and be part of that consciousness and boldly and proudly wave this flag.”
