We were first artistes to go on global tours, sign mega deals in dollars – P-Square.

People cried and fainted when we dominated the industry; yet we remained humble – P-square.
Peter and Paul Okoye, twin brothers who make up P-Square, have boasted that they pioneered global music tours in Nigeria.
They claimed that they controlled the music scene for nearly two decades and that their songs had a significant influence on the Nigerian music business.
The twin Afropop singers claimed to be the first musicians from Nigeria to sell out stadiums and secure multimillion-dollar deals.
In response to inquiries regarding their career and most recent works, P-Square made this statement on a recent episode of The 77 Podcast.
Paul added that during their globe tours, people passed out and sobbed while talking about their experiences and successes in the profession on the podcast.
Paul said; “Don’t forget who dominated the [music] industry for a long time. We [PSquare] held it down for nearly 13,14 years. We were there. Up there.
“In fact, we started doing traveling around the world, doing the stadiums, doing everything. People fainting, people crying. Signing multimillion dollars deals.”
Peter chimed in as well, saying that despite their notoriety and wealth, they never treated anyone with contempt.
He continued by explaining how they made sure Wizkid received an interview after newsmen neglected him when he was performing.
“We were never the type of artist that looked down on anybody. If you remember, there was a video that went viral where it was P-Square concert and Wizkid was opening for us. So, they [newsmen] kept on interviewing only P-Square, and we were like, okay, guys, hold on. What about him? They said… I said no, this guy is going to take over tomorrow.”
