In a recent interview, P-Square was questioned about the circumstances that led to their breakup and reunion.

Peter and Paul Okoye have once more discussed their split, which led to the demise of their musical duo P-Square.

In November 2021, Paul Okoye and his twin brother surprisingly broke the news of their reconciliation to their fans after a five-year separation.

The music artists were questioned about the circumstances surrounding their breakup and reconciliation in a recent interview with media personality Larry Madowo on CNN’s program “African Voices.”

Paul Okoye responded by saying that their breakup story is much like the typical breakup of music groups.

Peter, on the other hand, claimed that despite their close relationship, their human nature ultimately prevailed.

Speaking on why they reconciled, the duo said it happened naturally, they implied that none of them forced the reunion.

In the meantime, P-Square has claimed that their split helped other Nigerian artists to become successful.

In a recent episode of The 77 Podcast, where they discussed their music career and breakup, the Nigerian music duo PSquare made this assertion.

They said that if they had remained together, artists like Wizkid, Davido, Burna Boy, and others wouldn’t have dominated the Afrobeats music landscape.

The twin musical group said that from over 14 years until their temporary breakup in 2016, when other acts were given the opportunity to shine, they ruled the Nigerian and African music scenes.

Reacting to claims that Afrobeats gained global recognition when they were apart, Peter said, “Says who? They never said that.”
