Oxlade is one of the few artists in the Nigeria music industry that has an addictive voice, so obviously, his vocal dexterity is something to behold.

Ikuforiji Olaitan Abdulrahman popularly known as Oxlade rose to prominence after a spectacular contribution to ‘Mamiwota’ with Blaqbonez then later collaborated with Fireboy DML on a single titled ‘Sing’ which brought him much attention because of the unbelievably relaxing vocal dexterity, Oxlade’s vocal ability is simply uncommon.

Oxlade has a velvety voice, falsetto embedded, a greater dynamic range, and can sing pitches more accurately and expressively to energize the sound with proper breath support.

In the Nigerian music industry, artistes with such ability and power are very few, they include Wande Coal, Wurld, Demmie Vee, and Lyta.

Oxlade on the other hand has proved his ability to break through the mainstream by having tons of great collaborations, including Skip Marley, who featured Oxlade on the  P2J remix to ‘Slow Down’, released in 2020. The bump led Afrobeats cut also includes vocals fixed from H.E.R and Nigeria afrobeat heavyweight Davido, clearly flagging a solid root in Oxlade’s approach.

He released his debut 6-tracks EP titled ‘Oxygen‘ in 2020 which struck a chord across the nation and beyond, it serves as a ladder for him to grasp the position as the next rated artists in the Nigerian music industry.

It was supported by a single titled ‘Away’ which is a groovy vibe, melodious tune and a shock value and resonance of an instant hit.

The song also caught the attention of Canadian superstar, Drake, as he shared the song on his Instagram stories.

Oxlade has proved his voice on several live performances and some shared snippet and is clearly not just a regular autotune effect like some artist in the music industry.

His vocal ability is a powerful key and you can’t separate it with the success of his career, coupled with being part of the new generation who yearns to inflate the growth.
