Afrobeats singer Oxlade has urged performing artists to invest in vocal training to elevate their craft and ensure they can deliver strong performances independently.

In a tweet on X, he highlighted the importance of developing one’s natural voice, noting that while audio engineers and digital tools are valuable, artists shouldn’t rely solely on them. According to Oxlade, having solid vocal skills can make a significant difference in a performer’s career.
For artists who may not afford a professional coach, he recommended turning to online tutorials as an alternative way to strengthen their vocals.
He stressed that when the spotlight is on, it’s the performer’s own voice that carries the show.
“Dear Performing artist, Get yourself a vocal coach. And if you cant, Watch tutorials on how to better your vocals It will go a long way. I know engineers are life savers. But when the DAWs are not present and the spotlight is on you, you no really get choice than to use your natural God given voice. Invest in thyself. As long as that thing dey make you money,” he wrote.
Oxlade’s advice serves as a reminder to artists that honing their vocal skills is an essential investment—not just for performances, but for long-term success in the music industry.
