Nigerian singer-songwriter Oxlade clears up the delay regarding the release of his debut album.

In a Snapchat story posted on May 5, 2024, the artist expressed his desire to stop explaining the reasons behind the delayed release of his debut album.

Oxlade, who rose to fame in 2018, stated, “This might be the last time I speak about it or shalaye in any form.”

He explained that his debut album isn’t out yet because he wants to showcase his evolution. Oxlade emphasized that “change and growth birth more processing and perfection,” indicating that he is taking his time to perfect his first album.

Oxlade also offered advice to the newer generation of artists: “More or less the reason I tell the new sets of stars to drop while they have control over this p, drop it while you can cause a time will come.”

He clarified that the delay is not due to laziness, saying, “This is not an excuse for my efficiency, but like I said right after this project, my first ever album … my first offering to afrobeats as a man and not a boy. There won’t be breaks.”

In conclusion, Oxlade promised that his debut album would contain “songs that will heal the world.”
