Nigerian singer Ikuforiji Abdulrahman Olaitan better known by his stage name Oxlade reveals how he came up with his stage name.
In an exclusive interview with CNN Africa, He revealed that his name was given to him by his grandfather.
According to the afro-fusion singer, his grandfather named him after his late best friend. He revealed that his grandfather lost his best friend the day before he was born, prompting him to name his grandson ‘Oxlade’ in remembrance of his late friend.

Oxlade spoke on his musical upbringing, stating that he was born into a musically inclined household. He recalled going to church with his deaconess grandmother and singing in the choir.
He claims he had no clue he could make money from singing.
