Napoli and Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen has voiced his perspective on the global music industry, asserting that Rema stands shoulder to shoulder with heavyweights Burna Boy, Wizkid, and Davido. According to Osimhen, Rema currently holds the status of one of the “biggest artists” on the world stage.

While acknowledging the immense talent of Grammy-nominated singer Asake, along with Seyi Vibez and Omah Lay, Osimhen suggested that these artists are still in the early stages of their careers concerning global recognition.

Despite this, the reigning African player of the year expressed optimism, envisioning a future where Asake, Seyi Vibez, and Omah Lay achieve the same level of prominence as Wizkid and Davido in the music industry.

Osimhen’s remarks highlight the evolving landscape of Nigerian music and the potential for emerging artists to make a substantial impact on the international stage.

“Aside from Wizkid and Davido, we have Asake, Seyi Vibez, Omah Lay, and Rema. Rema is one of the biggest artists now in the world,” he said.

“Rema is there [top of global music] but these guys that I called, Omah Lay, Asake, and Seyi Vibez are also on the come up. In a few years, they are really going to burst out just like Davido, Wizkid, and Burna Boy.

“So, for me, it’s really good to be coming from Nigeria.”
