Organisers explain why Portable was stopped from performing in Ibadan
Popular street-pop artist Portable was prevented from performing at Fuji music star Malaika’s concert in Ibadan due to safety concerns raised by the event organizers.
The controversial singer had been listed among the artists scheduled to perform at the event. However, in a last-minute decision, the organizers, Jarule Entertainment, opted to remove Portable from the lineup, citing risks to his safety following recent remarks he made about the city of Ibadan.
In a statement to ‘Tribune,’ the organizers explained that despite securing adequate security measures, including consulting the commissioner of police and signing an undertaking, reports surfaced that individuals were actively seeking Portable’s whereabouts in Ibadan.
“To ensure the safety of Portable and other attendees, it was decided that he should be excluded from the event,” they stated.
The organizers emphasized that the move was necessary to avoid any potential unrest and to maintain a secure environment for all.
The concert management of the Taye Currency concert held yesterday in Ibadan, Oyo State, has given reasons why they didn’t allow Habib Okikiola, better known as Portable, to perform overnight.

Recall, Singer Portable openly disagreed with the recent prophecies delivered by Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), for the year 2025.
During the church’s crossover service held in Shimawa, Ogun State, Pastor Adeboye shared several prophecies for the upcoming year, warning that it would be a year many Nigerians would find difficult to endure. He emphasized that 2025 would be a “landmark year” and that the challenges ahead would be severe.
