I will carry Afrobeats to the next level – Orezi
Nigerian dancehall artist Esegine Allen, often known as Orezi, has stated that Afrobeats music is “not worth listening to” without him.
In an interview with Gehn Gehn TV, he boasted about his significance to the genre. The ‘Rihanna‘ crooner, who has been absent from the music scene for several years, has pledged to return and “dominate” the business.
Orezi has committed to bring Afrobeats to new heights that no other musician can match. He went on to call himself a lion and predicted that his next single will be a hit.
He said, “Afrobeats without me are not worth listening to. A lion cannot miss the hunt. On my shoulders I would carry afrobeats to the next level and I will dominate.
“The difference between me and other artistes is that I am different. I don’t follow rules. Rules are for regular artistes. I am Orezi.”
Recall, Bad Boy Timz, has called out his fellow artist Burna Boy for his recent comment regarding the lack of substance in Afrobeats.
Burna Boy, in a recent interview with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe, stated that 90 percent of afrobeats songs are “literally nothing.”
In response, Bad Boy Timz expressed his disagreement with Burna Boy’s perspective and noted that afrobeats has been a source of livelihood for him and many other artists for years.
