Omowunmi Launches New Business, Couture Hair, One Year After Mohbad’s Passing
Omowunmi, the widow of late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has embarked on a new chapter in her life by launching her first business venture, Couture Hair, over a year after her husband’s tragic passing.
In an emotional message shared on the official social media page of her brand, Omowunmi opened up about the challenging journey she’s faced since Mohbad’s death.
She reflected on the emotional turmoil of stepping into the role of both mother and father for their son, Liam, while simultaneously trying to move forward with her life.
She admitted to facing many sleepless nights filled with doubt, yet it was the overwhelming support from fans that gave her the strength to persevere. “I’ve been through a whirlwind of emotions over the past year, but your unwavering love has been my anchor,” she shared.
Omowunmi’s resilience now manifests in her new business, Couture Hair, which she describes as a “labour of love and passion.” The debut collection, The Liam Luxe, is named after her son and symbolizes the hope and strength they have cultivated together as a family.
In a lengthy note, she wrote:
“I never imagined I’d be here, sharing this journey with you all. Life after my husband’s passing has been a whirlwind—stepping into the roles of both mom and dad for Liam while figuring out how to move forward seemed impossible at times. Many sleepless nights were spent wondering how to keep going. But through it all, your love, encouragement, and support have been my guiding light.
