Nigerian Afrobeats star Omah Lay has sparked concern among fans after going on a late-night rant on Snapchat, where he admitted to battling depression once again.

The ‘Soso’ crooner, whose real name is Stanley Omah Didia, directed his anger at the music industry, his former manager, and even his younger self for signing contracts he now regrets.
In one of the posts, Omah Lay wrote:
“Fk contacts. Fk labels. Fk the music business. Fk my younger self. F**k my manager. God please, I’m losing my mind again.”
His outburst comes just weeks after parting ways with his manager, Muyiwa Awoniyi, raising questions about the pressures surrounding his career and personal life.
This is not the first time Omah Lay has publicly shared his struggles. His award-winning debut album, Boy Alone, was born out of a similar period of emotional turmoil, where he used music as an outlet for pain and self-expression.

Fans have reacted with mixed emotions. While some dismissed the posts as a publicity stunt or celebrity theatrics, many expressed deep worry, urging the singer to seek help before things spiral further.
The year 2025 has already seen Omah Lay in the headlines for controversial reasons. Recently, a burner Instagram account linked to him allegedly leaked a private chat with Grammy-nominated star Rema, fueling speculations that Rema was the unnamed artist Omah Lay accused of “stealing his sound.”
With his latest confession, supporters fear the Afrobeats hitmaker could be facing another downward spiral, even as he remains one of the genre’s most gifted voices.
