Olamide Makes History With His ‘Unruly’ Album.
Olamide, the renowned Nigerian rapper and music executive, has smashed new global milestones with his tenth studio album ‘Unruly,’ becoming the first African rapper to reach number four in the history of the US Apple Music Top Album Charts.
Baddo launched his tenth solo album, “Unruly,” on Wednesday morning, August 9, 2023. It was the follow-up to his album “UY Scuti,” which had been published two years earlier, on June 18, 2021.
There are 15 tracks spanning 40 minutes on it, and some of the most well-known ‘new school’ Nigerian musicians, including Asake, BNXN (also known as Buju), CKay, Fireboy DML, and Rema, collaborated on it.
Within hours of its release, “Unruly” soared to number four on the US Apple Music Top Album Charts, making history as the first (and only) album by an African rapper to do so.
‘UTOPIA‘ by Travis Scott, ‘Been One‘ by Ryle Rodriguez, and ‘AUSTIN’ by Post Malone were the three albums that came in front of ‘Unruly‘ on the chart. That Olamide is on such a star-studded list is history-worthy.
Additionally, ‘Unruly‘ has set a record for an African rap album by charting in 55 nations since its debut.
