Nigerian rap icon Olamide Adedeji, popularly known as Olamide, has joined the chorus of voices mourning the string of tragedies that shook the nation over the past week.

The YBNL boss took to Instagram on Thursday, November 20, 2025, to share an emotional message that captured the grief many Nigerians have been struggling to articulate.

In a somber Instagram Story, Olamide reflected on the painful events dominating the headlines, from the abduction of schoolgirls in Kebbi State to the violent attack on worshippers in Kwara and the heartbreaking accident that claimed the lives of prospective corps members traveling for NYSC orientation.

The rapper posted a screenshot of his message, revealing just how heavily the national mood weighed on him. “My heart bleeds,” he wrote. “So much loss. So much pain. May God console every family grieving right now. May we find hope amidst this chaos and unity in this pain. God protect us all. The news this week has been devastating. #PrayForNigeria.”

His reaction mirrored the shock and sorrow Nigerians have expressed in response to the tragic stories unfolding across multiple states.

Earlier in the week, gunmen stormed a girls’ secondary school in Kebbi State, killing a staff member and abducting more than 20 students. Not long after, a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) branch in Eruku, Kwara State, came under attack, leaving several worshippers dead and a pastor abducted.

The grief intensified further when young graduates from Adeyemi Federal University of Education (AFUED) lost their lives in a road crash on their way to Gombe for NYSC camp.

While Olamide is known for rarely speaking on national issues, his heartfelt outcry places him among growing public figures compelled to react as insecurity escalates. His message, though brief, carries a weight that resonates with citizens who are exhausted, fearful, and searching for hope.

At a time when the country is reeling from back-to-back tragedies, Olamide’s call for unity, prayer, and empathy serves as yet another reminder that Nigerians continue to look to one another for strength in the face of grief.
