Vinicius Jr. to wear Cristiano Ronaldo’s No. 7 for Real Madrid.
Vinicius Junior has switched to wearing number 7 for the next season. Rodrygo will start wearing number 11 in July, which is a new shirt number for him as well.
The new No. 20 for Real Madrid will be Fran Garcia.
One such player is Vinicius Jr. The club paid a high transfer fee to get the Brazilian to Europe as a teenager because they believed he would play a significant role in the team’s future.
Even if there are still many years left, he is already performing at the highest level and the signals are good. He would be primed for another successful season in 2022 if he won the Champions League final.
Vinicius was given the coveted number 7 shirt by Los Blancos in exchange for the number 20 due to his high level of performance and continued confidence in his skills.
The seven is a well-known marking in many teams, and in Madrid, players like Kopa, Amancio, Juanito, Butragueo, Ral, and Cristiano Ronaldo have all sported it. Eden Hazard, its most recent owner, didn’t have the greatest of times because an injury severely hampered his career in Spain.
Other number changes reflect the club’s perception of Vini’s importance, with fellow countryman Rodrygo substituting 11 for 21.
