Odumodublvck reveals why his mic was cut during 2025 Headies speech

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has broken his silence following the controversial moment his microphone was muted during his emotional acceptance speech at the 2025 Headies Awards.
On April 27, 2025, the Declan Rice hitmaker won the prestigious Next Rated Award at the 17th edition of the show. But as he began delivering his heartfelt speech surrounded by his team, the mic was abruptly cut, sparking widespread debate across social media.
Days later, Odumodublvck took to his official X (formerly Twitter) account to reveal what truly happened. According to him, the microphone was turned off because he began to speak about Jesus Christ. He implied that the interruption would not have happened if his message had been political instead of spiritual.
In his own words:
“I WAS TALKING ABOUT JESUS AND THEY TRIED TO SHUT ME DOWN. I AM HUNDRED PERCENT SURE THAT IF I WAS TALKING ABOUT HIS EXCELLENCY GOVERNOR BABAJIDE SANWO-OLU I WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN CUT OFF.
I GENUINELY HAVE NO BAD BLOOD TOWARDS THE HEADIES, RATHER, I AM GRATEFUL THEY PUT MY MIC BACK ON TO SPREAD THE GOSPEL. JESUS IS KING. HE IS BEFORE NOW AND FOREVER.”
The statement quickly ignited conversations online, with fans and fellow artists praising his boldness, authenticity, and commitment to his faith.
