‘I want to be reincarnated DMX, 2Pac in Africa’ – Odumodublvck
Nigerian hip-hop artiste, Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has expressed his aspiration to become a figure akin to the reincarnation of iconic American rappers, DMX and 2Pac within the African music scene.
He made it clear that he doesn’t want to be pigeonholed as solely a “Nigerian artist” but rather aims to be recognized as a global superstar.
The artist, known for his song ‘Declan Rice,’ shared these ambitions shortly after inking a significant career-altering contract with the renowned American multinational record label, Def Jam Recordings, based in the United States.
This new partnership signifies his determination to achieve widespread recognition and make a lasting impact on the international music stage.
Odumodublvck said, “Back home in Nigeria, you have artists that are really stigmatised for using our cultural language. I don’t want them [foreigners] to say, ‘he’s Nigerian and he’s just Nigerian [artist].’
“I want to be like the reincarnated DMX…If DMX and 2Pac were from Africa.”
