Odumodublvck reveals he once performed for bottle of beer
Buzzing Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck shared an amusing anecdote about an unconventional form of payment he received in the early stages of his music career.
The hip-hop artist revealed that in 2017, he was booked for a show, and after his performance, the organizer paid him with a bottle of beer.
Speaking on the Zero Conditions podcast, Odumodublvck recalled that his close friend and colleague, Reeplay, was with him during this incident.
The ‘Picanto‘ crooner explained that the payment was not the originally agreed-upon amount, but the organizer, impressed by their performance, decided to reward them with a bottle of beer.
The story adds a humorous and memorable twist to the challenges and experiences emerging artists often face in the early phases of their careers.
The rapper said, “I once was performed for a bottle of Hero beer. Me and Reeplay went to the show. We went in his black Amera car. He sold the car for N120,000. The car knocked on the road. When he came back, the car was bashed so we sold it for scrap.
“The bottles of beer that were given to us weren’t even the planned payment. The owner gave it to us out of his generosity and also because he said our performance was great. This happened in 2017.”
