Nigerian rap star Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, better known as Odumodublvck, has publicly accused the organizers of the Headies Awards of failing to honour their promise of giving him a car.

The rapper, who clinched the Next Rated Artist award at the 2025 edition held in April, was expected to receive a car as part of his prize package. Months later, Odumodu has raised eyebrows after alleging that the promise has not been kept.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) account, he questioned the award organisers in a playful but pointed tone, writing:
“I DON FORGET SAY I WIN CAR 😂 HEADIES WEY MY CAR?”
This isn’t the first time Odumodublvck and the Headies have clashed. During the award ceremony, his microphone was abruptly switched off mid-speech, but the 31-year-old defiantly remained on stage until it was restored.

His resilience earned loud applause from the crowd as he declared that his rise in the industry was proof that previous barriers were an illusion, boldly adding that “the machine is coming.”
In the aftermath of that incident, Odumodu explained that his mic was cut because he mentioned Jesus Christ, insisting the situation would have been different if he had been praising a political leader.
He posted:
“I was talking about Jesus, and they tried to shut me down. I am a hundred percent sure that if I was talking about His Excellency Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, I would not have been cut off. I genuinely have no bad blood towards the Headies; rather, I am grateful they put my mic back on to spread the gospel. Jesus is king. He is before now and forever.”
Odumodublvck’s latest outburst has once again thrown the spotlight on the Headies Awards and their treatment of artists, reigniting debates about transparency and respect for winners in Nigeria’s biggest music award platform.
