Odumodublvck warns upcoming artists against relocating to Lagos

Nigerian rapper Odumodublvck has urged upcoming artists to think twice before relocating to Lagos in search of success, describing the city as the “worst place for a young artist to grow.”
The Abuja-bred hitmaker shared his candid opinion on X (formerly Twitter), warning that Lagos’ highly competitive music industry often breeds “greedy, selfish, and self-centered packaged beasts.”
According to Odumodublvck, his career flourished partly because he honed his craft in Abuja, far from what he sees as the cutthroat atmosphere of Lagos.
“That’s why it was easy to run through the industry as the machine wey I be. I too real for una,” he wrote, suggesting that avoiding the Lagos music bubble allowed him to preserve his authenticity.
THE WORST PLACE FOR A YOUNG ARTIST TO GROW IS LAGOS
ITS THE MOST SELFISH PLACE TO GROW
YOU WILL BECOME THEM
A GREEDY SELFISH SELF CENTERED PACKAGED BEAST
THATS WHY IT WAS EASY TO RUN THROUGH THE INDUSTRY AS THE MACHINE WEY I BE
I TOO REAL FOR UNA.
THE MACHINE IS COMING.

In other news, Odumodublvck has thrown his weight into the heated conversation about alleged stream manipulation in the music industry, addressing recent remarks made by fellow rapper Blaqbonez.
On Thursday, July 31, 2025, Odumodublvck took to X (formerly Twitter) to air his thoughts, insisting that no amount of artificial streams can hide a song’s true value. In a post that quickly gained attention, the rapper warned fans not to be swayed by narratives designed to excuse poor performance.
“Dear public, do not let them deceive you. No matter how much a song is stream farmed, if your song is good and the people love it, it will show,” he tweeted. “All this one na small pikin scopes and antics, insecurities. Trynna prepare the table for in case you fail. Losers.”
