Nota Baloyi says Berita’s parents are liars.
In a surprising revelation on social media, Nhlamulo “Nota” Baloyi, the prominent businessman, made bold claims about the lobola (bride price) he paid for his estranged wife, Berita.
Meanwhile, according to his Wednesday tweet, three years ago, on the 26th of July, he paid the traditional dowry to Berita’s parents.
However, Nota alleged that the parents acted dubiously with the money he provided for the lobola, as it wasn’t used to purchase the promised cow, a customary part of the marriage tradition.
Furthermore, he went on to accuse them of lying about raising their daughter in a decent manner.
“On this day in 2020, I paid lobola… I haven’t seen any of the cows that money was meant to buy. That’s how you know your in-laws are not to be trusted. Not only did they lie about their daughter being a well-raised decent human being, they lied about adding to the cows they had,” he expressed on Twitter.
The tweet quickly gained attention, with many expressing shock over the fact that the lobola meeting took place online, rather than through a traditional physical meeting. The unfolding drama has captivated music and entertainment enthusiasts, adding a new layer of intrigue to the lives of these well-known figures.
