Norwich confirm the loan signing of Arsenal winger Marquinhos.
Norwich City have announced and confirmed the signing of Arsenal youngster Marquinhos on loan until the end of the season.
Marquinhos has joined Championship side Norwich on loan until the end of the season. Before completing the transfer, the 19-year-old, who had moved from Sao Paulo in the summer, travelled for a medical appointment on Monday.
The agreement with Norwich is for a straight loan, with no option to keep the player permanently.
Since the summer, Arsenal has been debating loaning out the winger.
He did, however, end up playing six times for Mikel Arteta’s team this season, largely in the Europa League and domestic competitions, after making an impression in the preseason.
In the Europa League away game against Zurich, he scored on his first debut.
Leandro Trossard’s transfer from Brighton earlier this month gave Arsenal, though, enough depth to give him more first-team opportunities.

Speaking at the announcement of his transfer, Marquinhos said: “I’m really happy to arrive here in Norwich and very excited to play my first game.
“I’ve learnt a lot as part of my adaptation here in England. It’s totally different to Brazil. It’s more intensive but I’m adapting well in order to help Norwich.
“I’m also really happy to get to know a new club, a new culture and a new city. The fans can expect that I’ll show desire.”
Head coach David Wagner added: “We’re delighted to have been able to add Marquinhos to our group. He is a young and exciting wide player, who wants to learn and further continue his development.
“I’d like to thank both Arsenal, for their in trust in allowing the deal to happen, and Stuart [Webber] for getting everything sorted so quickly.
“We now look forward to welcoming Marquinhos to our first-team group ahead of the remainder of the season.”
