The production of any song is a combined effort from two major players, the artiste and the producer.
Mp3bullet puts together a list of Nigerian producers who have greatly contributed to the advancement of the Afrobeats genre.
Don Jazzy
For close to two decades, Don Jazzy has been one of the top promoters of this genre. Started off with his crew, Mo Hits in the early 2000s and created some of the hottest tracks and albums ever in the music space.
Classically, his influence on Afrobeats as a producer can be seen on songs like Oliver Twist, Bumper 2 Bumper, God Win, Eminado amongst many others that have gained worldwide recognition and promotion.

Kiddominant
Many may not know much about this talented beat maker, but if you have ever vibed to Davido’s hit song, “Fall“, then you should be aware of the producer in charge of the beat.
Barely after two years of dropping the song, it became the gaffer for the growth of Afrobeats. Basking over 100 million views on YouTube and now over 200m!
Accordingly, this Kiddominant-produced song became the longest charting-Nigerian pop song in Billboard history.
Legendury Beatz
Legendury’s case is the perfect description of “I am who I say I am”. For Wizkid, Legendury has always got him covered with the beats.
As much as they have been in charge of many of Wizkid’s hit songs, not much is unique compared to the Starboy anthem “Ojuelegba.”
This is arguably the song that paved a higher way for Wizkid and got himself Drake‘s feature for the remix.
The multi-award-winning production duo, which comprises siblings Uzezi Oniko and Okiemute Oniko, have also produced for the likes of Mr. Eazi, Seyi Shay, Ice Prince, L.A.X, and Skales.
P2J
This is another producer who has become one of Wizkid’s international success stories. He works closely with Legendury and they have both produced incredible jams such as Wizkid’s top-charting record, Essence, Ojuelegba, and many others.
Being a London-based producer makes him one of the largest Afrobeats export in Nigeria. He has worked with the likes of Chris Brown, Doja Cat, Beyonce, and many more.
P2J gets his top accolades from Beyonce‘s Lion King album, as he produced the two most memorable songs; “Brown Skin Girl” & “Ja Ara E“.

Sarz
For a decade now, Sarz is another producer who has channeled his energy into promoting the Afrobeats genre.
Year in year out, he evolves in versatility and new sounds. One of the pioneers of Wizkid’s new and acceptable sound. He is attributed to the glory of his 2012 street anthem, Samba Beat Of Life, where he employed Wizzy’s service in vocals.
Also, he has produced renowned songs likes Wizkid’s Jaiye Jaiye, Wizkid‘s Closer featuring Drake, and many more.
Kel P
Lastly, we have the African Giant’s top record producer and songwriter. Burna Boy would certainly not have gotten all those accolades on the African Giant album without Kel P’s great assistance.
While producing the major tracks on that album, he co-writes 10 of the 19 songs from the project.
Songs like Gbona, Dangote, On The Low, and many more have his imprint on them and their success cannot be recorded without him.
