Some Top Nigerian Artists have however pulled off secret marriages with no fanfare and fuss that proves that one can definitely have a private life even with celebrity status.
They defied all odds by exchanging vows with their spouses away from the public eye.

Don Jazzy
This one came as a surprise as Don Jazzy has been rated as one of Nigeria’s Eligible Celebrity Bachelors. If there was a list of Celebrities who are expected to marry, the Mavin Boss would top it.
However, in the month of April 2021, Don Jazzy dropped a bombshell about his first marriage. According to him, he had gotten married at the age of 20 when he just ventured into the music business but due to a lot of issues, got divorced at the age of 22.
He was married to an American Model, Michelle Jackson and who has since remarried and had a son. The two however remain friends.
D’banj
D’banj got married to his wife Lineo Didi Kilgrow in a lowkey wedding in 2016 at his family home in Maryland, Lagos. The couple also had a quiet traditional wedding in Jos, Plateau State where Lineo hails from.
In an interview with BEAT FM in 2017, the singer explained why he kept the marriage secret. He said he did not want the complications and attention of a celebrity relationship.
“I decided to keep my marriage to Didi a secret because based on experience, relationships like this get mixed with media hypes and speculations and then it becomes complicated,” he stated.
Simi and Adekunle Gold
This paring was a surprise to some and not a surprise to others depending on who was following music rumours.
The two dated for five years and got engaged in 2018. They tied the knot in 2019 in a private ceremony that was attended by celebrities and friends alike but not one picture of the ceremony got out until the two released it out of their own accord.
The two released a music video in 2019 of their song, “Promise” that shows snippets of their ceremony.

Di’ja
Reports had it that Mavin singer Di’Ja had gotten married in December 2015 but the singer did not give a hint. On July 1, 2016, Di’Ja finally revealed that she had gotten married months ago and had given birth to a boy.
