Rising Nigerian artists to look out for in 2023
Mp3bullet.ng presents the talented Nigerian artists to watch out for in 2023.
Competition in the Nigerian music industry is at an all-time high. The torch has been passed to 2023 from 2022, the year of shocks, misinformation, streaming farms, and terrible losses.
For Nigerian music, the previous year was great; both new and old records were broken. America, Europe, and the rest of the world saw an increase in the popularity of the afrobeats genre.
In just over 10 months, Rema’s “Calm Down” music video on YouTube reached over 300 million views. Burna Boy made history by becoming the first African performer to sell out New York’s famed Madison Square Garden (MSG).
At the World Cup’s closing ceremony, Davido performed in front of millions of spectators.
Now, the new crop of artists is ever hungry to prove their mettle and Mp3bullet.ng put together a list of the stars that are already showing potential.

Young Jonn
This fresh-faced man went from being just a music producer to one of the hottest artists in the game in 2022 with so much ease.
Last year, Young Jonn effortlessly delivered back-to-back hits. He released his “Love Is Not Enough” EP first, followed by a deluxe edition.
Hit songs from the deluxe edition included Davido’s remix of “Dada,” “Normally,” and “Xtra Cool.” Young Jonn’s fame grew beyond Nigeria, thanks to the tracks that established him as more than just a music producer.
Impressively, “Xtra Cool” was the number-one song on the Nigerian Apple Music chart. Young Jonn the musician is undoubtedly here to stay, and we are supporting him this year.
Crayon
His debut might have been in 2019 but 2022 saw him finally stamp his name among other great stars.
Last year, Charles Chibueze, also known as Crayon, experienced a rapid turnaround in his dry spell. On Mavin’s “Overdose,” he delivered an outstanding verse and hook.
It is safe to say that the song will be a contender for 2022’s Song of the Year. His solo song “Ijo Laba Laba,” which Sarz produced, was another successful attack. On the song that has received millions of streams across several DSPs, Crayon once again demonstrated his outstanding talent.
He displayed a lot of development on the Mavins “Chapter X” album and discovered a technique to perfect the art of creating catchy song hooks.
In 2023, Crayon promised his fans more hits from his catalogue because he is aware of and appreciative of having reached those milestones in the previous year.
He has announced that he will be releasing a debut album his year and e can’t wait to hear what is in store for us.
Guchi
The only female musician on our list is Guchi. We are eager to see what the stunning singer can accomplish in the coming year because of her graceful journey and organic growth thus far.
She released an outstanding amount of work last year with the “Purple Diary” extended play. We are supporting her this year because we believe she has what it takes to succeed at higher levels.
T.I Blaze
Street pop has long been a major player in the Nigerian music industry. This direction was forged by Olamide and Phyno years ago, and it has since become one of the most successful subgenres in the industry.
Blaze is ready for larger things in the street pop lane after finding some success in 2022 with songs like “Sometimes remix, Try, Kilo and others, and we can not wait to see what he accomplishes next.
Boy Spyce
One of the few voices with the potential to become a global celebrity by the end of 2023 is Mavin Records’ Boy Spyce. He possesses every element required, including finances, the right personnel, sound, and a strong brand. His unreleased song “So Bad” is gaining popularity and may turn out to be his first smash of the year.
Majeeed
Majeeed is on the right path to success, with songs like “Yawa No dey end”, “No Room For Love”, “Stop Nonsense“, the rising star is giving every other upcoming artist a run for their money.
His chances of success in 2023 have further increased as a result of his recent partnership with Empire Distribution.

With his single “Rise,” which rapidly became one of the favourite street anthems, Nigerian Afrobeat musician T Dollar caught attention in 2022.
T Dollar has the potential to succeed Asake with a little push, thoughtful collaboration, and teamwork. He is fully equipped for the new year.
