These are the Nigerian artistes that need to drop albums very soon
It’s true what they say, you never really know how good an artist is until he drops an album, and here are the Nigerian artistes that need to drop albums very soon.
While quite a number of artistes manage to release impressive albums during their careers, most don’t get to pull it off.
And this has, for many years, been what has distinguished the good artists from the best.
You can be just good and still have a whack album. But, chances are if you are able to do a perfect album, you’re the best at what you do.
And that is why, over the years, there’s been a lot of pressure on artistes, both new and old, to get into the studio and record a studio album and release for listeners.
If they’re lucky, they have a couple of hits and their albums become the talk of the town.
If they’re not, well, they can always try again.
Last year though, due to the pandemic, there was an unusual influx of albums from Nigerian artists and for the first time ever, we got a WizKid, Davido, Olamide and Burna Boy album within a year.
Other key players like Kizz Daniel, Adekunle Gold, Tiwa Savage, all dropped albums too. But even with all that activity going on, we didn’t get albums from some of our favorite artists, and this made people keep looking forward to this year.
Here’s seven artists that should most definitely drop an album as soon as possible. It’s been much anticipated, and fans will for sure like to have any of these albums!
Naira Marley
Since his breakout in 2017, with “Issa Goal,” Naira Marley hasn’t stopped delivering hits. In 2019, he put out his first-ever project, an EP called “Lord of Lamba” and since then he has only released singles upon singles.
If anyone should be dropping an album in 2021, it should be Naira Marley. It’s long overdue!
Bella Shmurda
While his “High Tension” EP is one of the hottest projects that have been released by a new artist in recent times, it’s now time for Bella Shmurda to go deeper by releasing his debut album.
He’s had just enough time in the limelight, and he has enough connections to make it happen. So what’s he waiting for? I wonder.
Lil Kesh
Lil Kesh, from 2014 – 2016 was one of the brightest youngsters in the music industry, and his debut “YAGI” which was released under YBNL was a very impressive body of work.
Since he left YBNL though, he hasn’t been able to pull off a lot. He dropped an EP last year, but that’s not nearly enough.
It’s been five years since his first album, he should know that he needs to drop another album now.
Falz
Who wouldn’t just like a new Falz record? I mean, when it comes to albums, Falz has delivered and he’s one of the most consistent rappers on the scene.
Not that he has anything to prove though, but it’s been a while since Falz made waves, he probably is cooking something big. It better be an album.
Wande Coal
Wandecoal is a lazy artiste, to be honest. For someone of his status, he’s supposed to have nothing less than six studio albums, but he has only two.
Wandecoal needs to do better, get in the studio and do another album. And it has to be this year, if there’s to be any hope that it will have any impact on the industry. He’s not getting any younger, after all.
Rema
Rema is probably the most important young act in the music industry right now. He’s the most-watched and one of the most-streamed acts in Nigeria currently.
Within two years, he’s released three EPs, a compilation album and numerous hit singles. He’s also been featured by foreign acts and is becoming international.
His debut album is supposed to drop anytime from now, and truly, we can’t wait!
