Nicki Minaj has revealed why she is yet to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar amidst expectations.
After the release of her new song “Yikes”, she returned with her first Queen Radio episode of the decade on Monday. During the episode, the Queen revealed why she has yet to collaborate with King Kendrick.
The “Yikes” rapper spoke with her “Tusa” collaborator Karol G and 50 Cent even dropped by as a special guest. Fans were able to speak with the rapper directly and ask questions that they’ve been dying to get answered, including one person who was curious about why she was yet to collaborate with Kendrick Lamar.
She made a joke that the reason why she hasn’t collaborated with Kendrick Lamar yet is that he doesn’t want to get washed.
She went on to express her respect for the American Rapper saying “I’m a big fan of him and his talent and I’m looking forward to collaborating with him one day hopefully because he’s animated and I like the animation. And also, he just respects the craft of rap. At this time right now…yeah that’s all I’ll say about that.”
Nicki Minaj in the “Make Love” collaboration with Gucci Mane, referenced the Compton MC: “Bitch I’m the greatest, no Kendrick and no Sia / I’m the iPhone, you the Nokia.”
To which Kendrick Lamar responded by tweeting:
“I Love it Nicki Minaj”
Nicki Minaj replied him with: “I knew you would, Ha! Thanks, Kendrick”
