Osimhen dropped, Boniface, Lookman lead Super Eagles squad for Libya double-header
The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) has unveiled the 23-man squad for the upcoming AFCON 2025 qualifier double-header against Libya, scheduled for October 11th and 15th, 2024. Super Eagles head coach Austin Eguavoen has largely maintained the squad from the previous international break, with only two changes.
Victor Osimhen and Olisah Ndah have been dropped from the squad, with Chidera Ejuke and Benjamin Tanimu coming in to replace them. Eguavoen’s decision to stick with most of the same players signals his trust in the team’s form and cohesion as they prepare to face the Mediterranean Knights of Libya.
The Super Eagles will be aiming for strong performances in both fixtures as they seek to secure qualification for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations.
