Naira Marley becomes NDLEA’s latest ambassador.
Nigerian street pop artist Naira Marley has once again been making headlines as he joined the NDLEA in its effort to combat drug and alcohol abuse.
The well-known performer has been named the newest War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign ambassador by the Nigeria Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
Naira Marley has been in skirmishes with Nigerian government agencies in the past.
On the same day that his 2019 hit song, “Am I A Yahoo Boy,” was released, he was detained by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
A few days after leaving jail, he released his popular song “Soapy,” which discussed convicts’ sexual tendencies.
However, the 17th of August 2023 sees Naira Marley on the right side of the law. The chairman of the NDLEA hosted the artiste as he comes to pledge his support for the War Against Drug Abuse (WADA) advocacy campaign.
The spokesperson for the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) reported this development on his X profile page. This announcement was also posted on the NDLEA’s official X page.
