Chelsea professional footballer, Reece James, has reacted and spoken about the recent errors by Manchester United captain, Harry Maguire.

James is standing up for under-fire Maguire, who had a tough night against Germany on Wednesday night in the Nations League at Wembley.

Gareth Southgate, the manager of England, has continued to believe in Maguire despite losing his spot in the Manchester United starting lineup.

In last night’s thrilling 3-3 draw, Maguire committed a serious error by giving up the second-half penalty that enabled Germany to get on the board first.

After the game, James was questioned about how the dressing room reacted to Maguire’s most recent mistake.

He said:

“I think when you’re playing and you make a mistake, you don’t need to be told. I feel like you’re experienced enough to know you’ve made a mistake, and you don’t need to be told.

“Harry hasn’t been playing too much this season. He’s still finding his rhythm. We know the quality he has. There’s no doubts. It’s just a little step up and I’m sure they (Maguire and Pope) will bounce back and be stronger.”
