Nasty C discloses that he grew up looking up to Nigerian rappers
Nasty C, a well-known South African hip-hop artist, has admitted that numerous Nigerian rappers and Ghanaian prodigy Sakordie were his musical inspirations.
He added that rap singers from his native country, including the late AKA and Cassper Nyovest, served as inspiration for him.
In an interview with Afrozons for a podcast, the 26-year-old revealed this.
He said, “My pioneers for hip-hop in Africa in no order are M.I, Sakordie, Olamide, Phyno, AKA, Cassper [Nyovest], Naeto C… There’s so many.”
Nasty C—who describes himself as the “Coolest Kid in Africa”—is one of the most popular and lucrative rappers on the continent.
He has worked with a number of Nigerian musicians, such as Burna Boy, Runtown, and Davido.
