‘We Still Believe in ’You’—Nasboi Writes Heartfelt Letter to 2Baba Over Online Drama

Nigerian comedian and singer Nasboi has poured his heart out in a deeply emotional open letter to music legend Innocent “2Baba” Idibia, pleading with the icon to take charge of the troubling narratives currently circulating about his personal life.
The letter, shared online and sighted by Mp3bullet, reads like a cry from a longtime admirer watching his hero’s image slip into a storm.
Nasboi didn’t hide his disappointment; instead, he painted a picture of a bond formed from afar, one that started when he was just 16, glued to the voice, lyrics, and humility of the man who would become one of Africa’s most respected artists.
To Nasboi, 2Baba wasn’t just a superstar; he was a blueprint for composure, grace, and dignity.
He recalled how the veteran singer never allowed personal conflicts to spill into the public space, no matter what happened behind closed doors. That calm, humble persona, he said, was the compass that guided him for years.
But the recent wave of videos and online drama involving the singer struck Nasboi deeply. In his letter, he admitted it felt like watching a cherished monument crack.
“Dear King 2Face Idibia (2 baba) @official2baba. I feel genuinely heartbroken seeing some of the embarrassing videos and news about you circulating online. It hurts because you have always been my mentor,” he wrote.
Reminiscing on how 2Baba’s music and personality shaped him, he added:
“I’ve looked up to you since I was 16. I loved every bit of your music, your personality, and the humility you carried yourself. In fact, you were one of the people who taught me what it means to be humble.”
Nasboi emphasized that while everyone has private struggles, the 2Baba he grew up admiring never fought publicly or argued on social media.
“I never knew you as someone who fought publicly, argued online, or created drama… No matter what happened behind closed doors, you never brought it outside,” he wrote.
He went on to express concern that the current controversies were presenting a version of the singer that long-time fans were struggling to recognize.
“Your current situation is presenting a side of you that many of us have never seen, and it is painful to watch. Please, sir… for the sake of people like me who have loved you from a young age… Please take control of this situation.”
He ended the heartfelt note with an appeal filled with admiration and nostalgia, reminding 2Baba that millions still believe in him:
“We still believe in you. We still admire you. We still want to see the 2Baba we grew up respecting… With respect, love, and deep concern, a loyal fan.”
