Napoli set to announce the departure of boss Luciano Spalletti after their final league game.
According to Corriere dello Sport, Napoli will formally announce Luciano Spalletti’s resignation after their season-ending match against Sampdoria.
The 64-year-old Italian coach, using an electrifying brand of attacking football, accomplished the unthinkable in Campania this season, ending a 33-year drought by leading the Partenopei to the Scudetto.
In the weeks following Spalletti and Napoli’s victory, tensions have begun to build between the coach and President Aurelio De Laurentiis. Spalletti and Napoli’s victory spurred wild scenes of jubilation throughout the city of Campania.
The Napoli coach practically confirmed his decision to leave when speaking after the 3-1 win over Inter, saying: “If you are not convinced that you can give everything these people deserve, it’s right to think it over. You think it over, you arrive at a conclusion and then you stick with it.”
According to Corriere dello Sport via TMW, Napoli will formally disclose Spalletti’s resignation following their final match of the campaign on June 4 against Sampdoria.
The 64-year-old has been living in hotels and the training facility since joining the Partenopei in July 2021, but he hasn’t bought a property in the capital city of Campania.
