My life not for the public – Vector confirms he had private wedding 3 years ago

Renowned Nigerian rapper Olanrewaju Ogunmefun, better known by his stage name Vector, has disclosed that he has been married for the past three years.
The revelation came during a recent interview on TVC, where the artist discussed his decision to maintain a private family life.
In response to a question about his marital status, Vector confirmed he is married and clarified that his marriage is not hidden, as some reports suggest.
He emphasized the importance of privacy in his personal life, adding that he and his wife, Yinka Coker Ogunmefun, prefer to keep their relationship out of the media spotlight.
“Getting married is not everybody’s business. It’s between you and the person you’re getting married to,” he said during the interview. “So, I’m not comfortable with it being said that it is hidden. It isn’t hidden. I think it should be normal [to keep marriages private]. My partner and I are not fans of the media.”
Rumors of Vector’s marriage first surfaced in 2022 when reports claimed he had secretly tied the knot with Yinka. However, the couple has consistently chosen to shield their personal lives from public scrutiny.
The rapper and his wife welcomed their first child, a daughter, in 2020 while they were still dating. At the time, Vector announced the news subtly on social media, sharing a photo that concealed their baby’s face. Accompanying the post, he humorously wrote, “Hair product bills loading!”
Beyond his music and family life, Vector has been vocal about societal issues, particularly the rise of single-parent households. In a 2024 Twitter post, he expressed concern over the detrimental effects this trend has on children.
“The alarming rate of single parents destroying the lives of their kids out of emotional sentiment is crazy,” he wrote. Highlighting the root of the issue, he noted, “You have a child with someone, but because you all don’t live together, you sabotage the foundation of the child’s sanity by doing everything possible to destroy the connection they have with the other parent during their formative years.”
He warned that such actions often leave children with lasting emotional scars, ultimately contributing to a cycle of instability in society. “In case you are slow, you are destroying your child’s immediate future peace and confidence and creating one more mentally unstable human in the society,” Vector added.
The “King Kong” crooner’s approach to family and his public life reflects his belief in keeping certain matters strictly personal. For Vector and his wife, their marriage is a sacred bond that doesn’t require public validation, a stance that resonates with their values and lifestyle.
