Peter Okoye’s management Refutes Sabotage Claims by Darkoo, tags it opportunistic & selfish
Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P, has responded through his management, One Management, to accusations of sabotage made by UK-based artist Darkoo.
The allegations center around her new release, ‘Focus On Me (All The Sexy Ladies In The Club),’ which she claims was targeted by Mr. P over her refusal to feature him on the track.
In a detailed press statement signed by Ayo Oke of One Management, the company described Darkoo’s claims as “opportunistic and selfish.”
The statement clarified that Mr. P had been approached by Darkoo for assistance in clearing a sample used in the song. According to the release, Mr. P was forthcoming with guidance to help her navigate the clearance process.
The controversy deepened when Darkoo alleged that Mr. P tried to pressure her into featuring him on the original track and subsequently sabotaged the music video when she declined.
However, One Management refuted these claims, stating that Darkoo’s narrative was misleading.
The statement disclosed that Darkoo had offered to include Mr. P on a remix of the song, but he had communicated his unavailability for the proposed video shoot, contradicting her claim that he demanded inclusion on the original version.
One Management further explained that the temporary takedown of the music video was not an act of retaliation but a necessary step to safeguard Mr. P’s interests.
The release revealed that Darkoo had engaged a third party who did not represent Mr. P’s interests to clear the sample and even offered them 50% royalties—an arrangement Mr. P had no knowledge of and did not consent to.
The issue was resolved after Darkoo’s team directly engaged with Mr. P and reached an agreement that recognized and protected his intellectual property rights. Following this resolution, the music video was reinstated.
The management concluded by reaffirming Mr. P’s commitment to professionalism and respect for artistic collaborations, urging the public not to be swayed by baseless accusations.
