‘Allow me do my music in peace’ – Peter Okoye tells brother, Paul over song theft accusation
Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P and one-half of the iconic Nigerian music duo P-Square, has addressed recent allegations from his twin brother and former bandmate, Paul Okoye (Rudeboy), regarding the ownership of his latest song, “Attention.”
This follows Rudeboy’s claim that “Attention” was sampled from one of his own upcoming album tracks, set to release in June 2025.
In response, Mr. P took to Instagram to clarify the origins of the track, sharing that he collaborated with the song’s producer, Vampire, whom he initially met in Ghana.
He also revealed that he had written several songs, including “Attention,” before inviting Vampire to Nigeria to work on the project, even covering the producer’s travel expenses.
Peter emphasized his dedication to originality and the importance of giving proper credits in his work, refuting the sampling allegations.
To support his claims, Peter also released an audio clip of a conversation with Vampire, which further backed his version of events and challenged Rudeboy’s ownership assertions.
In an Instagram post, Mr P wrote, “Person no dey thief him own Property! It is well! Thank you, @iam_vampire_official, for the clarification.
“For the record, ‘Winning’ was written and composed by @calypso60music and myself. Produced by @iam_vampire_official and co-produced by @goldswarm.
“They all deserve their Credit. And I appreciate them.
