Peter Okoye reacts after US waitress slides into his DMs to complain about the ‘small’ tip he left at the restaurant.

Veteran Nigerian singer Mr. P, one-half of the iconic duo P-Square, has reacted after a waitress in the United States (US) slid into his DM to criticize him for what she described as a “small” tip.
The incident reportedly occurred during Peter’s recent visit to a restaurant in the U.S., where he spent about $1,000 on his meal. However, according to the waitress, he left only a $60 tip, a gesture she considered too little for the amount he spent.
Unhappy with the gratuity, the waitress messaged him directly, accusing him of being stingy and claiming that such “small tips” are part of the reason some people have grown to “dislike” him.
Peter, visibly stunned by the audacity of the message, took to his Instagram story to share a screenshot of the DM while addressing the situation.
The Reason With Me singer expressed disbelief at the waitress’s sense of entitlement, noting that it was absurd for anyone to feel they had a claim to his hard-earned money.
Reacting in his usual unfiltered tone, Peter wrote:
“Sometimes eh dis oyibos na them no get sense. Una dey craze for this Yankee I swear for my own money again.”
His response sparked reactions online, with many fans agreeing that tipping should be voluntary and based on personal choice, not a demand. Others, however, pointed out that tipping culture in the U.S. often expects higher gratuities, especially on large bills.
Either way, Peter Okoye’s fiery clapback reminded everyone that when it comes to his money, he’s not afraid to speak his mind even across borders.
