Why I can’t run a record label – Peter Okoye aka Mr. P
Peter Okoye, nicknamed Mr. P, a award-winning musician and one of the P-square music duo, has explained why he is not able to operate a profitable record label like some of his peers.
On Twitter, a worried fan asked the singer why he did not run a traditional record label like Olamide’s YBNL, Davido’s DMW, or Don Jazzy’s Mavin to support up-and-coming musicians.
The fan, who claimed to be a devoted follower, urged that Peter seek out and support up-and-coming artists.
“I’m sorry if my idea sound rubbish. I’ve always been your fan psquare
“But you not having standard record label such as Marvin Ybnl and dmw, makes me angry. Find talent and help, Thanks,” the fan wrote.
Okoye responded by saying that not all musicians need to run record labels and that he is too busy with other things to get involved in that area of the music business.
He also counselled the fan to control his frustration.
“I am sorry to disappoint you! It is Not every artiste that must run a record label. Some of us are just too busy doing other things.
“Most especially People Like me. So slow down with your anger. Thanks,” Okoye responded.
