Peter Okoye denies involvement in brother’s EFCC detention, reveals alleged financial mismanagement
Mr. P, one half of the popular Nigerian music duo P-Square, has finally addressed the allegations made by his twin brother, Paul Okoye, regarding his involvement in Paul’s detention by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In a detailed statement shared on his Instagram page, Peter Okoye firmly denied ever petitioning the EFCC against his brother. He clarified that his focus was solely on their elder brother, Jude Okoye, and his wife, Ifeoma, who were allegedly operating a secret company called Northside Music. Peter accused them of diverting millions of dollars and hundreds of millions of naira from their management company, Northside Entertainment.
Peter revealed that he had uncovered the existence of the secret company and had confronted Paul multiple times, but Paul denied any involvement.
Subsequently, Peter reported the matter to the EFCC, which led to Jude’s detention. According to Peter, Jude had been collecting PSquare’s royalties for years and transferring the funds to his personal account.
Peter emphasized that Paul was not included in the petition and was only invited for questioning, along with others who had business dealings with Jude’s secret company. He also disclosed that Jude admitted to sending money to Paul, claiming it was repayment for a loan from the sale of their house in America.
This statement follows weeks after Paul Okoye’s interview with City FM, where he accused Peter of orchestrating his and Jude’s arrest by the EFCC.
Peter’s denial and the new revelations add a fresh layer of complexity to the ongoing feud between the brothers and their former manager.
