Peter Okoye cuts ties with brothers amid ongoing fraud allegations

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr. P and one-half of the iconic duo P-Square, has spoken out amid escalating tensions with his brothers Paul Okoye and Jude Okoye, publicly declaring the end of their relationship.
Taking to the social media platform X, Peter shared a series of emotional posts where he confirmed that he has completely severed ties with his brothers, citing deep betrayal and years of internal conflict.
The revelation came after a fan urged him to mend fences with his family, emphasizing the importance of unity. However, Peter’s response was firm and resolute. “We are no longer family at this point,” he wrote. “Family is blood, yes, but true family is loyalty. Don’t let ‘family’ be the reason you suffer in silence. I did that for over 20 years, and it nearly destroyed me.”
He continued, “Love should never manipulate. Loyalty doesn’t deceive. And family should never rob you. If it affects my mental health, then it’s too expensive. #iDisOwnThem.”
We are no longer family at this point! Family is blood related, but the real family is loyalty…. Like I said before! "Don't let family be the reason you're drowning in silence. I did – for over 20 years. And it almost cost me everything. But now I know better – love doesn't… https://t.co/YtE82ir77J

This public fallout comes in the wake of legal drama involving Jude Okoye, whose legal team recently accused Peter of misrepresenting financial and educational records during a probe by Nigeria’s Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
In response, Peter fired back on social media, accusing the family’s publicist of attempting to smear his reputation. “I am not MayD. I am not Cynthia Morgan. I am PETER OKOYE—THE ROCK of the Okoyes. The truth will come out,” he stated.
In a deeply personal follow-up post, Peter reflected on the death of rapper Mohbad, revealing that the tragedy gave him the strength to stop suffering in silence. “Watching everything surrounding Mohbad’s passing made me vow never to play the bigger person again. Whether you love me or not, I will keep telling my truth.”
The singer’s revelations have sparked widespread conversations across social media, with fans reacting in shock, while others have expressed empathy and concern over the painful split in one of Afrobeats’ most influential families.
