Nigerian music innovator Mr Eazi has released “Violence,” his final single before the arrival of his much-anticipated EP, Maison Rouge, slated for release on October 29.

Produced by P.Prime and Ekelly, the song unfolds as a haunting reflection on love, silence, and emotional distance a place where affection lingers even after connection fades.
With its stripped-down production and deliberate pauses, “Violence” feels like a conversation between heartbreak and healing.
Following the rollout of earlier singles “Love Me Now,” “Corny,” “Casanova,” and the King Promise-assisted “See What You’ve Done,” this new track marks a shift toward deeper introspection.
Mr Eazi, known for his calm delivery and genre-bending sound, trades polish for raw honesty, allowing silence to carry as much weight as melody. It’s a sign of his growing maturity, both as a storyteller and as a man confronting vulnerability.
The accompanying music video, directed by Ademola Falomo, captures the essence of this inner turmoil with minimalist beauty. Set within the walls of an ordinary home, Falomo transforms the familiar into a psychological landscape, one where love’s absence becomes almost tangible.
Each room tells a silent story, mirroring the emotional fracture that the song so delicately describes.
Visually stark yet profoundly moving, the short film complements the emotional gravity of the upcoming Maison Rouge project. It reminds viewers that home is not defined by space, but by the warmth or coldness shared within it.
Speaking about the meaning behind “Violence,” Mr Eazi said:
“I wanted to explore the kind of violence that doesn’t leave bruises, the silence, the distance, the emotional cut-offs that happen when love turns cold. It’s the most honest song on the project for me.”
With Maison Rouge, Mr Eazi continues to push creative boundaries, merging music, film, and emotion into a single artistic language. “Violence” not only sets the tone for the upcoming EP but also reinforces his evolution as one of Africa’s most introspective and daring voices.
