Nigerian musician and music/business executive Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade, popularly known as Mr Eazi, has addressed rumors circulating about Afrobeats star Tekno allegedly collapsing on stage.
A video surfaced on social media showing a man, claimed by many to be the “Pana” crooner, being assisted by security operatives after reportedly collapsing during a performance in South Africa.
The video quickly gained attention and sparked concern among fans.
However, Mr Eazi was quick to debunk the rumors. On Tuesday, August 20, 2024, he took to social media platform X (formerly Twitter) to clarify the situation, stating that Tekno was not in South Africa at the time but in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea.
He humorously wrote, “Lmao Tekno wey dey Malabo,” putting an end to the speculations.

Mr Eazi’s response is particularly notable given the recent strategic alliance between Tekno’s Cartel Music label and Mr. Eazi’s emPawa Africa, in which Tekno has become an investor and partner.
This partnership likely motivated Mr Eazi to quickly clear the air regarding the false rumors.
Additionally, an in-house investigation confirmed that the individual in the video was not Tekno, further dispelling the fake news.
