Nigerian Music star, Mr Eazi has hinted on plans to acquire the copyrights to old iconic African songs.
Founder of the emPawa Company and Music star, Oluwatosin Ajibade popularly known as Mr Eazi has shared his plans to get the copyrights of some African songs.
In a tweet he posted on the 4th of November, the music star stated that the rights of some of Africa’s iconic songs are in the hands of the wrong people.
According to him, these people don’t understand the cultural and commercial importance of these songs. He compared this situation to people who have vintage Rolex and leave it in a corner to acquire dust.
The Banku singer boldly declared that he was going to work around this issue and probably work towards acquiring these copyrights.

“Most of the rights to some of our most iconic Music from the 50’s, 60’s , 70’s are in the hands of many who don’t understand the cultural / commercial importance! It’s like having a vintage Rolex & keeping it in one corner of the store for dust to cover it!! Im gonna change this”
